South African Passport holders do not need a visa to enter Ireland. South Africans travelling to Ireland must be able to satisfy the Immigration Officer at the Port of entry, providing to him/her that they have a valid reason for entering Ireland and may be asked for documentation to support their case.
Please note that NO "Entry" letters will be issued by the Embassy of Ireland, Pretoria for travellers on a South African passport or any other passport that does not require a visa to enter the Republic of Ireland,
South African Passport holders need to travel on a valid full South African passport and not a temporary travel document. There needs to be more than 6 months validity on the passport before the date of return.
